That's my story.

And now, I’m sharing with you everything I’ve learned in my 5+ years of being in the publishing industry: from writing and querying my first 4 books with zero offers, to signing with my lovely agent and selling 2 rom-com novels to Penguin Random House.

This 1-hour Zoom webinar includes my take on over 45 viewer-submitted questions, as well as the facts of my publishing journey.

Wait, who am I?

I’m Swati Hegde, and I live in Bangalore, India. I’m the debut author of MATCH ME IF YOU CAN, a desi romantic comedy novel that releases in 2024 from Bantam Dell, Penguin Random House.

I’m also a fiction writing coach and editor for authors with over 7 years of experience, and I’m so thrilled to have been able to help over 150 authors with their manuscripts, query letters, and sample chapters since starting my business.

 Fun facts about me:

  • I love Taylor Swift, and my favorite albums are Reputation and Midnights.
  • My go-to ice-cream flavor is mint chocolate chip, and no, it does NOT taste like toothpaste!
  • I truly believe that romance novels can change the world, and my biggest hope as an author is to make my readers smile despite all the bullsh!t life puts them through.

Swati's Publishing Q&A Webinar

This Q&A webinar is split into 6 sections: Writing, Revising/Editing, Querying, Rejection, On Submission, and After the Book Deal. The questions I answer include:

  • How do you create a marketable book?
  • How do you know which feedback/critique to consider and which to ignore?
  • What’s a good query template to get agents hooked?
  • Can we see YOUR query letter?
  • Did you ever lose hope, and if yes, how did you get it back?
  • How did you deal with ghosting on full manuscript requests?
  • Did your publisher ask you to make any major changes to your debut novel?
